Overview of Position: FMD is a midsize certified public accounting (CPA) firm in Birmingham MI looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our growing organization. We are currently looking for a candidate who possesses the ability to multitask is organized possesses a strong attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

Provide administrative support to our fastpaced CPA firm

Process client deliverables such as tax returns and financial statements

Process letters and email correspondence as requested by accounting staff

Maintain electronic filing systems

Filing and scanning of client information

Coordinate and schedule meetings and appointments for firm

Respond to and resolve administrative inquiries and requests for help

Contact clients to obtain verify and update account information when necessary

Database management including recording address changes and purging inactive records

Ordering supplies from various vendors

Performs other related duties as assigned


Back up duties:

Answers multiline telephones in a professional and timely manner and provide excellent customer service to clients

Cover front desk daily for lunch and breaks

Welcome visitors and clients

Receive and process mail

Process payments via online banking


Job Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years experience in a professional office setting

A college degree is not required experience preferred

Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel Outlook Teams Adobe products and the ability to learn new software/technology

Familiarity with CCH Axcess and SafeSend Suite is a plus but not required

Have strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills

Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment

Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times


Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. In March and April additional overtime hours including Saturdays may be required around tax deadlines.
