Job Description Manager EDIB FullTime Permanent Position
Position Summary
The Manager of Equity Diversity Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) provides leadership and expertise on issues of equity diversity antiracism antioppression inclusion and belonging both within the organization and in the delivery of services. This role is responsible for leading and supporting initiatives that align with Youthdales EDIB Work Plan and Strategic Plan ensuring that equity and inclusion principles are embedded across the agency. Reporting to the Senior Director HR the Manager will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Leadership Team members to coordinate projects and initiatives that advance EDIB efforts throughout the organization. As a key member of the management team the incumbent will lead and support the planning and implementation of strategies to strengthen client support and workplace culture while also overseeing the EDIB Committee.

Union/Non: This is a nonunionized position.
This posting is for a replacement position within our organization. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement requiring minimum 3 days per week onsite and the remaining time working remotely.
Accountability
This position reports directly to: Senior Director Human Resources.
Corporate Responsibilities
- Fosters positive and constructive interpersonal relationships with the staff volunteers and residents visitors outside agencies government officials and related professional associations.
- Maintains and adheres to all relevant legislation.
- Maintains and adheres to organizational policies and procedures.
- Works in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations reporting hazards deficiencies and contraventions of the Act in a timely manner.
- Development implementation monitoring and evaluation of training and development programs aligned with the organizations strategic priorities and guiding principles.
- Demonstrates management practices which are consistent with the guiding principles and philosophy of Youthdale Treatment Centres.
Job Responsibilities
- Leads the implementation communication and evaluation of the organizations strategic plan in response to its plan and commitment to address EDIB in the
- Promotes the organizations commitment to equity diversity inclusivity and belonging and ensure an understanding of EDIB principles and values across all teams departments and function
- Works closely with leadership to advise on EDIB goals measures and outcome
- Presents EDIB goals and initiatives at senior leadership
- Assesses and analyzes current processes procedures and guidelines and make recommendations to incorporate/strengthen EDIB strategies in the
- Develops metrics for assessing the presence and success of underrepresented client groups. This includes both quantitative and qualitative
- Collaborates with the agencys leaders to effectively implement EDIB in their line of work keeping the clients we serve at the forefront of decisions
- Supports the maintenance and make recommendations of policies and procedures ensuring they support EDIB
- Regularly collect analyze and report on data related to workforce diversity equity gaps and inclusion progress making evidencebased recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Lead cultural competency initiatives that enhance staffs ability to work effectively with diverse populations and encourage selfreflection and awareness of personal biases.
- Create and maintain a library of EDIB resources for staff clients and leadership including toolkits guides and educational materials to foster a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives.
- Serve as a mediator in resolving conflicts related to diversity and inclusion providing guidance and support to staff managers and leadership in addressing EDIBrelated challenges.
- Lead organizational change initiatives to embed EDIB principles into the agencys culture using change management strategies to ensure successful and sustainable integration of these values.
- Identify and explore opportunities for partnership with key external and community partners to drive the application and delivery of best practices in EDIB initiatives.
- Design EDIB goals and initiatives that complement the Sanctuary Model ensuring alignment with the agencys traumainformed care framework.
- Collaborates with leaders in Youthdale to develop strategies to reach racialized Indigenous and other underrepresented population groups in the
- Coordinates health equity diversity and inclusion annual
- Supports the professional development of staff by coordinating and/or developing training workshops materials and guides as it relates to incorporating EDIB in our work to support our clients.
- Acts as a Subject Matter Expert serve as a learning thought leader and partner with teams on tackling EDIB issues and act as a resource for staff and
- Oversees the work of the EDIB Committee by assisting in planning workplace/organizational health equity diversity and inclusion meetings undertaking research completing assigned tasks on behalf of the Committee advising on matters that might be brought to the Committee representing the Committee at other planning tables as assigned
- Coordinates EDIB related projects and provide administrative support to ensure effective documentation task tracking and reporting over the project life
- In partnership with human resources support best practices and initiatives that will increase diversity among the workforce and enhance our human resources practices (such as: recruitment strategy leadership development employee engagement and retention succession planning
- Assists the human resource department with establishing recruitment partnerships and conduct
- Coordinates and facilitates EDIB professional development and
- Ensure Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and Human Rights Code compliance and provide informed guidance on accessibility and inclusion.
- Provide EDIB perspective on related investigation results and make recommendations for resolution.
- Support initiatives to increase health equity by carrying out assigned duties such as: reviewing service materials organizing community consultations supporting communities of practice supporting youth engagement initiatives
- Support the development of EDIB
- Work in collaboration with internal communications colleagues to ensure Youthdales communications such as: website content social media content is aligned with EDIB objectives.
- As a skilled facilitator bring people to the table and create a safe space for open insightful dialogue that propels EDI work
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Masters degree in Human Resources Equity Studies Management or related field study or equivalent combination of education and related professional and community
- Five 5 years of experience in the EDI field in a role with the scope and responsibilities for developing leading and executing EDI strategies and initiatives and training programs as they relate to the workplace.
- Completion of a Human Resources Certification (CHRP) or equivalent an asset
Knowledge and Skills
- Thorough knowledge and demonstrated understanding of equity accessibility intersectionality anti racism decolonization inclusion antioppression provincial labour legislation the Ontario Human Rights Code Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and their application in an organizational
- Sensitivity to and awareness of Indigenous Black racialized gender and disabilityrelated issues and their intersection(s) with other identities including socioeconomic status religion sexual orientation age marital status family status
- Demonstrated experience working with seniorlevel leadership in bringing about positive meaningful and sustainable organizational change and producing measurable
- Welldeveloped knowledge understanding and experience in building inclusive workplaces organizational development change management and employee
- Discretion judgement and ability to deal with highly confidential information sensitive issues and emotional situations.
- Understanding and experience with the cross section of EDIB knowledge and training including inclusive leadership antiracism privilege microaggressions and unconscious
- Experience in project management change management and strategic
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives with supporting
- Able to operate at the strategic policy and operational levels with a broad vision for the role of equity in achieving
- Leading with a continuous improvement mindset and has the ability to influence and drive change across
- Adaptable to changing priorities in a fastpaced
- Proven ability to think creatively and strategically and work with a high degree of independence.
