Job Description

At the direction and supervision of the Assistant Director(s) of Security and SOG Operations the Special Operations Guard Manager (SOGM) is responsible for providing oversight support and guidance of all assigned personnel within Wynn Security Operations.

Essential Duties

  • Operational Oversight:
    • The SOGM ensures effective deterrence detection and response to security/safety related events and is responsible for administrative and operational management of assigned supervisors and officers.
    • Coordinate and implement executive protection services per Wynn policies.
    • Provide necessary resources to effectively respond to emergency events effecting Wynn property and/or assets such as /lethal acts security/safety events fires riots demonstrations and evacuations.
    • Liaison and coordinate with Corporate Investigations Crisis Management Hotel Operations and LVMPD as necessary to resolve incidents conduct investigations and implement scene management protocols.
    • Review staffing levels to ensure full coverage of posts and assignments. Assign the appropriate personnel as necessary and ensure adequate staffing for all shifts.
    • Delegate authority and task responsibilities to assigned personnel. Ensure clear understanding of roles and equip personnel to fulfill their duties effectively.
    • Consistently emulate and ensure adherence of company Forbes Five Star standards of service.

 

  • Administrative Oversight:
    • Collaborate with Hotel Security Corporate Investigations and Hotel Management to investigate incidents. Compile data and information for accurate reporting and identify trends or areas for improvement.
    • Complete incident and use of force reviews to ensure compliance of company policies.
    • Utilize various software systems to track attendance payroll overtime justification incident reporting work cards applicable licenses and inventory management.
    • Manage programs and processes to reduce and control loss time injuries. Implement safety measures conduct risk assessments and address issues or situations potentially contributing to employee injuries.

 

  • Hiring Training & Development:
    • In coordination with the Security Administration and Training team participate in the recruitment process screen potential candidates conduct interviews and select qualified candidates.
    • Participate in training and development of assigned personnel to include the Security Academy SOG Academy Defensive Tactics Firearms Training and implementation of sustainment training.
    • Develop and implement training programs to ensure all personnel are properly trained in security protocols emergency response procedures and other jobspecific skills.
    • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of assigned personnel.
    • Provide feedback on performance to support the professional growth of supervisors and officers.

 

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Director Executive Director or Vice President of Security.

Qualifications :

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Minimum 4 years of military or law enforcement service. Relevant armed professional experience may be utilized to supplement and achieve the required minimum of 4 years. (Honorable discharge required if applying with prior military experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years Supervisor experience in hotel/casino armed security law enforcement or military is highly preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will currently possess a Nevada Carrying Concealed Weapon (CCW) permit or a HR 218 (law Enforcement Officer Safety Act) card. Candidates who do not currently hold either of the certifications must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada CCW or HR 218 within six months of their hire date. Once obtained the CCW or HR 218 certification must not expire.
  • Must be able to obtain and possess a valid Nevada Gaming Registration an Alcohol Awareness Card (AES) First Aid and CPR certifications and a valid Nevada Drivers License upon employment.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain Wynn Firearms Qualification requirements.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school graduate or equivalent is required college graduate preferred.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
  • Ability to conduct investigations and compile accurate reports.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and adapt to changing situations.
  • Understanding of risk assessments and injury prevention strategies.
  • Experience in hiring and training security personnel is preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to security.
  • Ability to work alone and within a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently and professionally. Additional languages are welcomed.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills along with a working knowledge of basic computer programs (Word Excel Outlook email etc..
