About the position:
Location: Houston TX or Arlington VA (Hybrid23 days in the office)
The Advanced Procurement Engineering Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving Sourcing Strategies into the New Product Development early in the design phase in collaboration with multifunctional teams to achieve outcomes that align with the overall objectives Competitiveness and Speed. You will create CostReductionOpportunities in the products in MassProduction work with Sustaining and Engineering teams for their validations and coordinate all activities for their implementation.
This role will:
Perform LongLeadTime (LLT) analysis of the BillofMaterial (BOM) early in the DesignPhase of New Product Development.
Identify and manage SingleSource and SoleSource Components in the BOM under development.
Create and maintain approved component and vendor lists in collaboration with Category Managers and Product Engineering.
Perform RiskBuy analysis for components to avoid delays in Product Launch.
Identify second source components for components in the BOM
Collaborate with Category Managers to develop sourcing strategies and drive implementation in new product developments
Drive designtocost with product design Engineering in choosing most economical components through TechnoCommercial benchmarking
Works with Design Engineering to ensure OnTime documentation and release of the component to ensure OnTime release of the POs.
Participates in weekly Program Team (PET) meetings to update actions from Procurement & SupplyChain perspectives and coordinate support from other crossfunctions.
Create and drive CostReductionOpportunities from products in MassProduction
