DescriptionWe are recruiting a Procurement Engineer to join our Procurement team in Pittsburgh PA. This position will support New Product Development.
You will be responsible for leading all sourcing activities supporting New Product Development (NPD) design teams as they drive projects from concept to rollout. This position requires a strong focus on customer service flexibility and process efficiency.
Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Lead supplier engagements for multiple NPD projects. Address supply gaps develop sourcing strategies obtain stakeholder buyin and manage stakeholder expectation
- In alignment with established commodity strategies Lead supplier identification process exchange of information selection development and relationship management for NPD projects. Work with global suppliers of various cultures and time zones
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and design engineers. Manage prototype inventory levels BillofMaterial (BOM) /Engineering Change Notices and related communication with suppliers
- Source wide range of materials to strengthen the global supply base and support commodity strategies.
- Purchase components/subassemblies/turnkey outsourced content to meet prototype builds and engineering sample demand. Develop Tooling/Fixtures track progress and manage prototype/NRE expenses for multiple NPD projects
- Resolve supply/invoice issues throughout the P2P (ProcuretoPay) cycle. Collaborate with Suppliers and internal teams to negotiate and resolve scheduling conflicts inventory levels material shortages delivery requirements cost improvements quality improvements and other material issues
- Lead the processes of developing NDA RFP/RFQ packages CAPX StatementofWork and Contracts by working with the Design Commercial and Legal teams
- Lead negotiations to maintain the product cost target. Perform TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and ShouldCost Analyses to evaluate the best option
- Leverage internal and external resources to drive Design for Manufacturing and Design for Cost initiatives within the Product development team
- Facilitate the communication between suppliers and SQE (Supplier Quality Engineering) group to complete qualification of new parts/assemblies
- Collaborate with Fortive Category Managers to ensure best practices and greatest leverage in procurement lowcost region sourcing supplier assessment & management.
- Must be able to travel up to 1020 to find develop and manage domestic and/or global sources of supply.

- This role reports directly to the Procurement Product Introduction team lead and works as a core team member on multiple product development projects.

- Experience with Oracle EBS a plus.
Experience
- 3 years experience in new product development.
- Experience in Procurement Strategic Sourcing and Product Development within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of finance and accounting characteristics of supply chain.
Education
- University Degree (Bachelors Degree or equivalent) in Engineering Supply Chain Management Business Administration Commerce Economics or related field.
- ISM certification as CPSM a plus.
