The Department of Environmental Protection Division of Resource Administration is seeking to fill an Environmental Specialist II vacancy in Augusta.
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: The position performs assigned duties critical to the administration of the Collection Claims and Recovery Unit. This includes establishing filter agreements and providing oversight and management of longterm filter agreements. The position processes claims and invoices and determines which costs are eligible for reimbursement and payment. The position also tracks data receivables agreements and other actions critical to the remediation of sites. The position assists with other project work as needed. Work is performed under limited supervision.
There will be some remote work opportunities with this position with management approval and following the DEPs Telework Policy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelors Degree from an accredited educational institution which includes 15 credit hours of science or engineering courses OR a four 4 year combination of education and experience in an environmental science or related area.
Preference will be given to applicants with the following:
- Knowledge and experience specific to the investigation and remediation of contaminated sites.
- Experience interacting with a variety of parties such as the general public municipal officials and the regulated community.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems independently.
- Experience with the use of SharePoint Advantage MainePays Microsoft Word Excel and Access computer programs.
