Job Description

TERM: Beginning August 27 2025. Last day October 31 2025WORK STATUS: Substitute Nonexempt Atwill positionREPORTS TO: Principal and/or Assistant PrincipalPOSITION SUMMARY: The Long Term Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing classroom coverage and the development and/or implementation of lesson plans for the Kindergarten teacher who will be absent for an extended period of time. The longterm substitute works the regular hours of the absent classroom teacher during his/her absence. Work hours are 7:30am 3:15pm MondayFriday. JOB DUTIES: Effectively manage a classroom of Kindergarten students by keeping students on task Instruct students based on subject or gradespecific curriculum Supervise and ensure safety of students during classroom hours Any other duties as requested by the school JOB EXPECTATIONS: Follow through with commitment to the entire duration of the assignment; you will work in the same classroom daily and there will be an aide to assist. Model professional appearance attitude and demeanor Maintain staff and student confidentiality SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS: Must have ability to follow both oral and written directions/instructions Must have ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written meansESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions required the following physical demands: frequent bending reaching kneeling walking standing and occasional squatting. CLEARANCE: Must pass a CORI check and take the VIRTUS Protecting Gods Children course though the Archdiocese of Boston
