You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailCapital University Law School seeks to hire a fulltime Professor of Clinical Studies and Director of the General Litigation Clinic to begin in the summer of 2025. This is a fulltime faculty position. The Professor and Director will be eligible for longterm contract status which provides security of position and will have full voting rights at faculty meetings on all matters (including hiring) except matters pertaining to tenure and promotion of faculty on the tenuretrack.
Our General Litigation Clinic represents clients in a broad range of areas including general civil criminal defense Wills and probate domestic relations and landlordtenant and it places and oversees students working in local mayors courts. The Professor and Director manages Clinic operations teaches and supervises students and participates in faculty governance. Serving in this position requires legal experience in multiple practice areas; experience in managing a smallmedium law firm or legal clinic; strong skills in organization analysis and oral and written communications; and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with integrity and professionalism.
Management of Legal Clinic Operations: The Professor and Director manages all aspects of the General Litigation Clinic. Specifically the Professor and Director:
Training Education and Supervision of Students: The Professor and Director supervises instructs and mentors legal interns. Specifically the Professor and Director:
Service at the Law School and in the Legal Community: The Professor and Director collaborates with deans administrators faculty and the broader legal community to enhance the Law Schools mission. Specifically the Professor and Director:
Supervises GrantFunded Operations: The Law School contracts with the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas Division of Domestic Relations & Juvenile Branch to oversee the Franklin County Domestic Court SelfRepresented Resource Center. The Professor and Director writes grant applications for the funding; prepares and submits biannual reports and quarterly invoices; participates in hiring and training courtfunded staff; maintains statistics/data; meets with court personnel as necessary; handles complaints regarding courtfunded operations; and coordinates with the Universitys finance office.
