Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer of Manulife Wealth the Head of Insurance Partnerships & Programs is a pivotal leadership role tasked with driving strategic growth and innovation in our insurance offerings across Manulife Wealth. This role is responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships creating and executing referral programs and spearheading crossborder initiatives to expand our market presence and capabilities.
The incumbent will oversee the Canadian Insurance Consultants (ICs) team ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and maximizing performance across both employee and independent wealth channels. Growing the Insurance Consultancy program through greater engagement with existing advisors resulting in more financial planning and greater insurance sales resulting in Net Renewable Premium (NRP) growth.
The successful candidate will bring a strong strategic vision and the ability to execute complex initiatives including the creation of a platform that enables Canadian advisors to obtain licenses in various US states or support growth through referral relationships. This platform will enhance our advisors ability to engage in crossborder business opening new avenues for growth and client engagement. In addition the role will focus on building a robust referral network that leverages existing relationships and identifies new opportunities.
The Head of Insurance Partnerships & Programs will collaborate closely with internal teamssuch as wealth planning the MGA leadership team sales and practice management product development compliance and risk managementand external partners to ensure the seamless delivery of strategic initiatives. This role requires a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of the insurance landscape in both Canada and the U.S. exceptional relationshipbuilding skills and a track record of driving sales growth. The incumbent will also act as a key representative in industry forums advocating for our programs and strengthening our market position.
The role requires a balance of seasoned leadership entrepreneurship strategic and analytical thinking and will require an agile thinker who is able to pivot from working on the business to working in the business as needed.
Adept at communicating vision driving positive engagement and challenging the status quo this leader will bring the strategy to life. Specifically this role will support the build out of an operating model to:
Support and lead our aggressive growth plans
Support aggressive recruiting targets
Enable advisor growth activities
Support advisory teams for efficiency and implementation of new technologies resources and programs and Increase engagement.
Strategic Leadership & Program Development:
1.Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to drive sales growth through insurance partnerships and programs with a focus on referral networks in Canada and the US.
2.Lead the creation of a platform that enables Canadian advisors to secure US state licenses facilitating crossborder expansion and increasing market reach.
3.Collaborate with sales marketing and product development teams to enhance our insurance offerings and value proposition across both employee and independent wealth channels.
4.Monitor financial results with a focus on driving profitability.
5.Act as the subject matter expert and leader for insurance sales distribution.
6.Build and maintain key strategic external leadership relationships within industry and across our partner carrier firms.
Sales Growth & Team Management:
1.Drive the performance of the Insurance Consultants (ICs) team setting clear objectives and targets to achieve sales growth and market penetration.
2.Support the development of tailored sales strategies and initiatives that align with the needs of both internal employee and independent wealth channels and external channels.
3.Monitor sales performance and market trends providing insights and recommendations to optimize strategies and capture new opportunities.
Partnership & Relationship Management:
1.Build and maintain strategic relationships with key industry partners carriers and stakeholders to expand our insurance programs and market presence.
2.Engage with advisors and partners to promote our insurance solutions leveraging industry forums and networks.
3.Work closely with compliance and regulatory teams to ensure all partnerships and programs meet industry standards and regulations.
CrossBorder Development & US Focus:
1.Lead efforts to establish a licensing platform for Canadian advisors to operate in the US navigating regulatory requirements and statespecific processes.
2.Develop and implement a US referral program that leverages existing relationships and identifies new partnership opportunities to drive growth.
3.Assess the US market landscape to identify emerging trends and opportunities for expansion aligning initiatives with company goals.

Salary range is expected to be between
$148400.00 USD $275500.00 USDIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location please contact for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions geography and relevant jobrelated factors such as knowledge skills qualifications experience and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
