The NCDAC / Support Services / Regional Maintenance is recruiting for an energized and collaborative oriented Electronics Technician II to be a part of the SouthCentral Region Maintenance Team and assigned to Pender CI This position reports to the Pender CI located in Burgaw NC and will be tasked with completing electronics preventative and routine maintenance and likeinkind Force Account system replacements. A successful candidate for this position shall have journeyman level experience in the construction installation maintenance and repair of electronics systems equipment and machinery; be able to work independently to complete work assignments received by a supervisor; read and interpret blueprints; and perform other assigned duties. A successful candidate for this position is expected to train and supervisor incarcerated offenders within State prison environment.
This position will have a duty station of Pender CI and requires the successful candidate to commute daily to Burgaw NC or other agreed upon location to retrieve the State assigned work vehicle. This StateOwned work vehicle for standard business use and overnight stays when required. This is a fulltime position 40 hours per week) with State Benefits. The work schedule is Monday Friday and may require some overnight travel to meet the demands of the organization.

The salary grade for this position is NC11. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as or lower than their current position. If selected for this position a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience funding availability and internal equity. Based upon these factors a pay increase MAY result.

Associates degree in electronics from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressive experience in the repair and maintenance of complex electronic systems including some responsibility for the design of electronic apparatus; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Based on the nature of work performed may require appropriate licensure by the governing board or commission.
We support the Institutions and Facilities directly and indirectly by installing and maintaining kitchen plumbing mechanical electrical and electronics equipment. The DECMEngineering team consists of experts in architectural and engineering design property services project management and sustainability efficiency and resiliency (SE&R). These services support new construction renovation and likeinkind and upgrade maintenance repairs to the agencys physical plant while ensuring compliance with the NCDOA State Construction Office.
Through valuable rehabilitation and training for offenders we aim to improve recidivism rates. DECMConstruction undertakes construction renovation and major maintenance projects that involve longer periods of resource allocation with a focus on enhancing the departments infrastructure assets. DECMMaintenance which encompasses the Mountain Regional Yard Piedmont Regional Yard Coastal Regional Yard and three Satellite Yards provides essential plumbing HVAC/R and electrical preventative prescriptive and routine maintenance services to all Institutions and Facilities. Additionally our maintenance efforts include specific areas such as telecommunications electronic intrusion systems (EIS) fencing cameras fire alarms and energy management systems all focused on maintaining the Departments infrastructure assets.
DAC uses the MeritBased Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Human Resources Act with the most qualified individuals.
