Description

Temporary Conference Event and Project Coordinator

The Minnesota Conference of The United Methodist Church seeks a mission focused person for the role of Temporary Conference Event and Project Coordinator. The person in this role will collaborate with conference leaders in the planning of events and projects. This position is responsible for coordinating conferencewide events (virtual hybrid and inperson) with tasks that include but are not limited to collaborating with others from initial planning of the event to any postevent responsibilities. The Temporary Conference Event and Project Coordinator will be rooted in Jesus grounded in Wesleyan theology committed to inclusion of all persons and engaged in the work of justice and reconciliation. This is a temporary inperson position from April 28 June 30 2025 with some travel required.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate events for the Minnesota Conference in a way that aims to REACH (Resource. Equip. Align. Connect. Herald..
  • Coordinate the logistical planning and of the Annual Conference Session and all conference events (in person hybrid and virtual events) with attention given to ABIDE (Accessibility Belonging Inclusion Diversity Equity). Responsibilities include but are not limited to securing suitable locations designing and overseeing registration and fees negotiating and meeting requirements of applicable contracts coordinating volunteers managing expenses preparing for postevent teardown and designing surveys for postevent feedback.
  • Work with the Office of Communications to ensure event listings and registration for conference events are included on the web site.
  • Create and maintain clear and transparent processes and documentation in all related tasks that are congruent with the current mission vision and values of the Minnesota Conference.
  • Integrate conference racial justice initiatives promote the full inclusion of all people and contribute to a culture where all voices and ideas are welcomed in all related ministries.
  • Share stories that highlight the organic spiritled nature of related ministries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • An Associates Degree is required.
  • A minimum of 13 years of relevant experience in an office environment is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Power Point etc..
  • Administrative skills including budgeting research project management and basic technological competency.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects negotiate contracts and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Detailoriented individual that is organized and takes initiative.
  • Highly motivated to accomplish goals and solve problems creatively and resourcefully.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of the structure and polity of The United Methodist Church is strongly desired.
