Description

The Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa Edinburgh is looking for a Finance Assistant to join the team. This is a permanent full time position based on property as part of a great team working office hours Monday to Friday. Please note that weekend work will be required if month end falls over a Saturday and a Sunday but time back will be given.

The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa is ideally located in the heart of Edinburghs financial and tourist area and is one of Scotlands leading 5 star hotels. As the largest 5 star hotel in the city with 269 bedrooms we also have the biggest banqueting and meeting facilities with a capacity of up to 500 and the most popular gin bar in Edinburgh One Square. Additionally the hotel operates the award winning One Spa one of Europes premier advanced city spas.

What youll be doing

Job Functions:

  • Accounts Receivable / Sales Ledger
  • Revenue Controls
  • Accounts Payable / Commissions
  • General Cashiering
  • Working closely with the Finance Manager and our Heads of Department to provide ongoing support.

In Summary:

  • Check figures postings and documents for correct entry mathematical accuracy and proper codes.
  • Organize secure and maintain all files records cash and cash equivalents in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Record store access and/or analyze computerized financial information.
  • Maintain accurate electronic spreadsheets for financial and accounting data.
  • Classify code and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records using journals ledgers and/or computers.
  • Prepare maintain and distribute statistical financial accounting auditing or payroll reports and tables.
  • Complete periodend closing procedures and reports as specified.
  • Prepare review reconcile and issue bills invoices and account statements according to company procedures.

  • Ideally you have some experience in a finance role and/or qualifications (or part qualifications) in finance.
  • Some prior experience working in hotels would also give you an advantage (although not essential)
