Syntelligent is currently seeking a Solid Rocket Motor (SRM)experienced Engineer for Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) activities for Program Managers at DARPA. Position is located at the DARPA agency headquarters in Arlington VA. The successful candidate will focus on propulsion design fabrication and production to support advanced research and development programs to the U.S. military.
Candidatesmustmeet the following prerequisites:
- Proven leadership in developing and testing advanced materials for extreme environments relevant to propulsion systems
- Deep expertise in hightemperature materials science including manufacturing/processing characterization testing (e.g. insitu monitoring) and performance evaluation.
- Experience collaborating with the domestic ecosystem for advanced materials and manufacturing including industry and service laboratories.
- Demonstrated program management success including:
- Funding and contract management;
- Team leadership stakeholder engagement and cultivating technology transition;
- Project lifecycle management (from requirements analysis to verification and validation);and
- Risk management achieving performance metrics.
- Experience with development of test platforms and operations.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations standards and policies related to propulsion systems.
- Specific experience with dynamic thrust control or solid rocket motors is highly desired.
Additional required qualities:
- Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technical areas; highly adaptable to change
- Resilient in supporting dynamic program environments
- Persistence to find technical and administrative solutions and break down roadblocks
- Strong organization and project management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; craft narratives via PowerPoint slides
Clearance: Secret with ability to be cleared to higher levels
Education: BS in Engineering or Scientific discipline at a minimum; MS desired.
