This position will be based in Kamloops BC and will be a full time Fixed term role for 3 years supporting the Northwest Gas Transmission Assets and Major Growth Projects.
What you will do:
Efficiently supply technical aid to field operations and personnel in relation to relevant code processes standards and guidelines.
Support or lead technical operations accountabilities such as audits reliability support investigations process improvements and technical reviews.
Provide technical support in emergency response situations and efforts.
Evaluate and support ranking risks along the system to help ensure funding is allocated to projects with the most direct impact to safety integrity and reliability.
Prepare and approve work packages for engineering modifications. Directly responsible for identifying and assessing reliability issues as they develop to determine efficient and complete mitigations or solutions.
Who you are:
You hold a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and are a Registered Professional Engineer with immediate eligibility for registration with EGBC.
You have 4 or more years of experience with electrical and power systems.
Knowledge and in depth understanding of control systems electrical transmission high voltage systems natural gas power generation and UPS systems.
Proven experience with large industrial power systems (substation large electric motor drives variable frequency drives and associated switchgear).

Working Conditions (Optional):
An Office based position with large amounts of field time to support and understand Area Operations needs.
May spend time in the field as required to support projects or area operations (approx. travel time up to 35 generally 1 full week at a time)
Extreme climate exposure risk in field. Long duration driving with dynamic road conditions to reach field locations.
