Role overview: The Import Administrator is responsible for supporting the smooth and efficient flow of imported goods into the company ensuring compliance with customs regulations maintaining accurate documentation and liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries.
Duties & Responsibilities
REQUIREMENTS:
Matric is essential.
3 years of similar experience.
Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office (esp. Advance level of Excel) and proven ability to create and maintain reports in spreadsheets.
Must have organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
Analytical and problemsolving skills as well as attention to detail a must.
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for establishing and maintaining strong relationships.
RESPONIBILITIES:
Preparing and reviewing import costings and capturing the data on an imports system
Communicate with suppliers and vendors to confirm shipping schedules order details and any discrepancies.
Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure the timely and efficient clearing of goods through customs.
Monitor and ensure compliance with import regulations tariffs duties and taxes.
Updating Sailing Schedule and liaising with merchandise teams.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise during the import process including damaged goods incorrect documentation or customs clearance delays.
Preparing import costings and capturing the data on ERP system.
Preparing LC and TT payments and liaising with banks.
