CASUAL RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT WORKER

Salary: Up to 14.50 an hour (inc. London Allowance)

Location: Northolt Middlesex

Contract/Contract/Hours:Casual Varied Hours pick and choose when you work around your study family retirement or home life!

Shifts times are2pm to 10pm 9am to 5pm 9am to 9pm (normally school holidays)10am to 10pm (normally school holidays and weekends)

About the role

Haydock Short Breaks based in Northolt is a 6 bedded house providing short breaks to children and their families aged 8 to 18 years of age. The service supports children and young people who have various disabilities and complex needs. The aim is to ensure that they provide a fun and welcoming environment.

As part of our Ealing based residential childrens home Haydock Avenue we have a fledgling service running alongside which is providing community short breaks to children with disabilities and additional needs for children aged 1119. Our aim is to give every child a customised opportunity to have fun build skills and promote independence at their pace.

You will be passionate committed and resilient and yes this role can at sometimes be emotionally and physically challenging but its also fun diverse and you will feel huge sense of reward by being able to help in the best way possible If this all sounds ideal then you are exactly who we are looking for.

How youwillhelpourYoungPeople:

  • Planning and leading shifts to engage the children and young people.
  • Supporting children and young people in administration of medication and clinical procedures in line with the services policies and safeguarding practices
  • Taking responsibility for the personal care and routines of the young people.
  • Supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Being responsible for the safeguarding of young people.
  • Attending meetings/reviews with other care professionals to promote person centred care.

Lets talk about you.

  • Experience of working with children and young people or care work (experience of working with children with disabilities would be an advantage).
  • Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce Social Care Pathway or Residential Childcare or equivalent is desirable.
  • Leadership skills and ability to run a shift and work well as part of a team.
  • A positive and confident approach to engaging with children and young people.
  • Safeguarding knowledge.
  • Be caring and compassionate with excellent communication skills.
  • A good standard of written English and the ability to make accurate records.
  • Willingness to continue to develop through on the job training.
  • Working off your own initiative proactive and motivated.
  • Flexibility to be able to work in a casual role.
