Description

Role: Residential Support Worker (Shift Leader)

Location:Headington Oxon

Salary: Up to 28000 per annum (dependant on qualifications and experience)

Contract/Hours: Permanent Full Time 37 hours a week with a 2week rolling rota drawn up in advance with every 2nd weekend are 7.3014.50 and 14.00 21.30.

About the Service:

Viking House is an overnight 6 bedded short break residential service suitable for children and young people up to the age of 18 years of age with physical and/or learning disabilities to include complex health and behavioural care needs.

We work to reduce the impact of the disability on the childs day to day life by providing support for them to participate make choices enjoy new experiences make friendships and be part of their local community. At the same time parents and carers can have a muchneeded break knowing their child is in a safe fun and enriching environment.

Our Residential Support Worker guides a dedicated team through shifts with expertise and empathy. Their proactive approach to risk manage and safeguard our young peoples wellbeing allowing us to deliver the highest quality of care. With a commitment to continuous improvement theyll ensure the wellbeing of our children and young people is prioritised by delivering personalised care guidance and advocacy.

Our Residential Support Workers create a safe nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop ensuring their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care guidance and advocacy that is consistent with regulatory requirements and the agreed policies and procedures.

How youll help to create brighter futures

In the role as Residential Support Workeryou will be promoting Action for Childrens values as well as supporting the Registered Manager Service Coordinator and Teams Leaders to achieve positive outcomes for the young person.

What you will be doing:

  • Providing case/care planning management including assessing reviewing and managing risk.
  • Coordinating responsibilities within the service with multi agency and producing family information including analysis and written reports.
  • Attending at professional meetings including reviews court work etc.
  • Leading shifts with the primary aim of the provision of a highquality service.
  • Supervising and guiding staff as required in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures.
  • Leading by example with the application of Action for Childrens policy procedures and professional practice standards and in line with registration requirements

Lets talk about you:

  • Experience of leading Shifts in a Care setting is essential.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent).
  • Experience and training in safeguarding.
  • An innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Experience of developing tailored care plans
  • The ability to create a safe and fun environment for both staff and children in the home and in the community.
