Job Description
- Position Summary
- Two temporary hourlyintermittent Bridge Student Assistant positions available in Housing and Residential Life.
- Start Date
- Positions available on or after May 262025 and ending on or before August 29 2025. Possibility of reappointment based on budget department needs and job performance.
- Job Description/Duties
- Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Mechanics a Maintenance Student Assistant work with the maintenance professional staff or independently on various job duties. The Maintenance Student Assistant position receives extensive training in safety measures that are relevant to the job duties and must demonstrate the knowledge of these trainings to work effectively in a safe manner.
Duties include but are not limited to:- Assist department staff with various maintenance tasks such as changing lightbulbs light paint replacement of filters removing cobwebs and changing batteries.
- Assist with disassembling and moving furniture.
- Assist with repair projects such as leaky faucets toilets and various appliances.
- Assist with larger maintenance projects.
- Perform a variety of preventative maintenance tasks.
- Assist with various grounds or custodial projects as needed.
- Assist with various housing events such as movein moveout or other events that need additional support.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Must be able to lift approximately 5080 pounds.
- Must be available to work MondaySunday between the hours of 7:30a.m.4:00p.m.
- Adhere to established work hours. Multiple occasions of unexcused tardiness and/or absence will result in position termination.
Required Qualifications:- Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six 6 Fall/Spring units.
- Postbaccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four 4 Fall/Spring units.
- Salary Range
- $16.50 per hour.
