Job Description

Join a passionate fundraising team as our Associate Director for Alumni Fund Leadership Giving a pivotal role expanding the philanthropic impact of generations of alumni. Nearly 75 of Alumni Fund dollars come from leadership donorsand we see a unique opportunity to grow that number through both a new program element and further refinement of existing strategies.

As the strategic architect of a new peertopeer leadership volunteer agent structure you will partner across the Development and Alumni Engagement teams to recruit train and support a diverse cohort of volunteer solicitors. Your leadership will shape a sustainable highimpact volunteer model that broadens and diversifies the number of leadership donors making gifts between $2500$25000.

Youll also be a key partner to Development Officers helping ensure their leadership asks $25000$250000 are welltimed wellexecuted and wellstewarded. Within the Alumni Engagement team Class Managers will count on you to keep information flowing clearly and consistently among staff and volunteers and to secure challenge funds that drive successful microcampaigns and classbased annual giving efforts.

Responsibilities:

As the Associate Director for Alumni Fund Leadership Giving you will be the hub of leadership giving for the college. While many staff and volunteers will be your frontline you will be orchestrating the whole of the effort and ensuring they all have what they need for the team to meet aspirational fundraising goals.

  • The Purple Mountain Association. You will ensure 10 of each classs donors receive a personalized leadership ask from a staff member or a peer. Identify new leadership prospects by analyzing giving and engagement behavior. In collaboration with Development colleagues provide strategic leadership of AF prospects in gift officer portfolios ensuring each prospect has an ambitious but achievable ask and strategy in place. Provide the strategic leadership of the AF prospect pool to help DOs and SDOs identify and secure challenge funds for microcampaigns. Carry out baseline stewardship for all Alumni Fund leadership donors of at least $2500/year and ensure elevated stewardship is provided for donors making gifts of $25000 and higher.

  • Leadership Agent Volunteer Program. This is an exciting opportunity to build something new for Williams on top of a generationsstrong foundational peertopeer volunteer agent structure. You will partner with both Alumni Engagement and Development colleagues to identify and recruit new volunteer leadership agents across all classes. Using existing volunteer training structures and building new ones provide a dedicated cohort of volunteers ongoing and ample opportunities to receive appropriate training to engage and ask peers and handle challenging questions and situations and ensure theyre properly onboarded supported and retained.

  • Diversification of Alumni Fund leadership donors. Collaborate with Prospect Management and Research colleagues to conduct regular analysis of the leadership donor and prospect pool with an aim of proportional representation at each level of the leadership pyramid from all solicitable alumni populations. Where gaps exist among cohorts within the leadership donor pool develop collaborative strategies and initiatives to close those gaps and broaden and diversify the donor pool.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors plus at least 5 years relevant experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Previous experience managing volunteers is required

  • Previous frontline gift officer experience is required

Application review will begin on May 19 2025 and will continue until the position is filled. Pay range is from $82000 $92000 commensurate with experience.
