Job Summary

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Knoxville is accepting applications for the fulltime Apprenticeship Specialist positions in the TCAT Knoxville Anderson County Higher Education Center. This is a grantfunded position.

The Apprenticeship Specialist is responsible for developing and expanding registered apprenticeship opportunities with local employers. This position works closely with local industries economic development agencies chambers of commerce and education partners to create new apprenticeship programs that connect students and job seekers to careers through handson onthejob training.

Job Duties

  • Identify indemand industries and occupations that would benefit from apprenticeship programs. Conduct skills gap analyses to understand employer hiring and training needs. (Essential)
  • Cultivate relationships with employers to promote the benefits of registered apprenticeship and address barriers to developing programs. (Essential)
  • Provide guidance to employers on registering apprenticeship programs with the U.S. Department of Labor or relevant state agency. (Essential)
  • Assist employers with developing comprehensive apprenticeship curricula that outline onthejob training classroom instruction and wage progression over the program term. (Essential)
  • Partner with secondary and postsecondary educational institutions to align apprenticeship curricula with related technical instruction. (Essential)
  • Market apprenticeship opportunities to students job seekers educators and parents through career fairs presentations and digital outreach. (Essential)
  • Support apprentices from recruitment through completion addressing issues or challenges that arise. (Essential)
  • Maintain records and submit required reports on active apprenticeship programs. (Essential)
  • Continually assess program outcomes and employer satisfaction to ensure quality and identify areas for improvement. (Essential)
  • Data collection on all grant activities (Essential)
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of TCAT Knoxville GIVE Grant 3.0 goals and objectives. (Essential)
  • Actively support and participate in campus recruitment and retention efforts (Essential)
  • Must be willing to participate in continued professional development and training (Essential)
  • Demonstrate a willingness to work extra hours as needed to cover College events (Essential)
  • Some travel will be required (Essential)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or administration on and off campus (Essential)

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree required in a related field such as Business Education Marketing or Counseling from an accredited institution
Minimum of two years work experience in customer service education recruitment marketing or related
Proactive and resultsfocused professional with expertise in project planning and delivery driving projects forward to achieve desired outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in higher education
Excellent relationshipbuilding communication project management and problemsolving skills

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated experience coordinating career education programs or partnerships
Demonstrated experience with grant reporting and project management
Attention to detail
Strong customer service skills; must possess effective oral and written communication skills to convey college information accurately and to present information to large groups and individuals effectively
Must have the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs audio/visual equipment and software; and working knowledge of maintaining student records and/or sensitive information
Must have the ability to multitask with good organization and planning skills
Passionate belief in the power of education along with the desire to help students achieve their academic professional and personal goals
Ability to relate to a diverse faculty staff and student population
Ability to represent the College and division professionally with internal and external constituents to further the purpose values and mission of the College

SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience according to Tennessee Board of Regent guidelines within the range of $50494 $65647.
