Job Description
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for gathering financial data analyzing trends preparing reports and providing insights that will support business decision making. The position will interact with senior management and plantlevel staff members in varied areas of financial analysis and should demonstrate appropriate understanding and working knowledge of reporting structure performance metrics and company processes. The role will include analysis of inventory valuation product costing and customer pricing and profitability analysis. Additionally this role will participate in the tracking analysis and reporting of monthly quarterly and annual financial and operational results for all four plant facilities. This position will have a strong focus on simplifying and streamlining financial and operational reporting recommending changes as necessary.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze Financial Statements and related reports to provide actionable insight.
- Develop improve review and report key performance metrics for sales and operations.
- Analyze budget vs actual performance and work with key personnel to provide explanations for deviations.
- Assist with preparation of the annual budgeting process.
- Compile adhoc reports and participate in special projects as required.
- Oversee sales contract tracking analysis and reporting
- Support the completion of yearend reporting procedures and annual audits
- Ensure accurate completion and timely dissemination of financial management reports including internal monthly financial statements and board presentation materials.
- Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices banking tax and related reporting of financial data.
- Use logical deductive or inductive reasoning; identify complex problems and develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Demonstrate good communication skills (oral and written) active listening and learning skills and reading comprehension.
- Proficient knowledge of a Windowsbased computer system and Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint) software. Advanced Excel knowledge. Familiarity with additional software (Dymanics 365 Power BI) preferred.
- Prior knowledge of or work experience in food or process manufacturing preferred.
- 57 years experience in Financial Analysis Cost Accounting or similar roles in a Manufacturing or Food Processing environment preferred
Education:
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business or closely related field. CPA CMA and/or MBA highly desirable.
