Job Description

Penney High School is seeking a dynamic fulltime Special Education Teacher to join our team of dedicated educators for theschool year. Coaching opportunities could be available as well. Penney High School is located in Hamilton MO which is about 40 miles East of St. Joseph MO. We have an enrollment of approximately 200 students. This position will include working as a coteacher in a Class within a Class (CWC) situation as well as Pullout Special Education classes.

Applicants must have strong instructional skills and an understanding of content standards at the secondary level within a teaching setting. The applicant must recognize that all children learn differently and demonstrate the ability to offer differentiated instruction to each individual student. The caseload is approximately 12 students per Special Education Teacher. PHS is on a block schedule which allows for 90 minutes of plan each day. Full Special Education Certification is preferred but we would be willing to consider teachers with other certifications or alternative certification candidates.
