TEACHER MENTORS
General Description and Goals
Teacher Mentors are responsible for the coaching and mentoring of teachers who are pursuing professional teacher status in Everett Public Schools. Teacher Mentors are key components of the new teacher orientation process until one receives their professional teaching license. Teacher Mentors are responsible for training assigned mentees in both instructional strategies and curricula and operational processes necessary to perform their job responsibilities effectively and efficiently. Teacher Mentors are leaders in their respective buildings and should be exemplary educators and employees.
Teacher Mentors will be expected to attend virtual and inperson professional development and checkins throughout the year with the Director of Instruction.
Teacher Mentors will be expected to facilitate and differentiate Mentee meetings using the Month to month checklistbased on individual needs.
Mentors must attend an inperson Mentor Orientation on May 21 2025 from 3:004:15
Mentors must attend one full day of new teacher orientation Wednesday August 20 2025
Number of Positions: up to 25
Requirements Qualifications:
- Professional teaching license.
- Current Everett Public Schools Teacher.
- Proficient or Exemplary overall rating on most recent summative evaluation.
- Endorsement from the building Principal.
- Experience using Google Suite Canva and X2 Gradebook.
- Ability to utilize available technology to make completing job requirements more efficient.
- Experience with the implementation of district HQIM.
- Ability to utilize curricula and culturally responsive teaching practices for effective teaching including providing access to content for ELs and students on IEPs.
- Ability to read IEPs and provide mandated accommodations and modifications for students on IEPs through instruction student engagement and classroom management.
- Keen understanding of reading and analyzing student performance data such as DIBELS IXL iReady MCAS and ACCESS to support differentiation of instruction.
Pay/Salary
Up to 60 hours at $40/hour stipend in one payment in June 2026. Please apply directly on Talented.
