JOB SUMMARY

The Field Manager is responsible for managing onsite installations of ceramic tile LVT wood carpet and any other scopes under contract. Managing installations requires a combination of organization paperwork and communication with customer Superintendents AWC Project Managers and installation subcontractors. The Superintendent is required to prewalk jobsites to ensure conditions are ready for installation and know how to react when conditions are not so. The Superintendent will also continuously oversee installation methods to ensure quality and that proper installation methods are being adhered to. This requires a working knowledge of installations methods as defined by industry standards. The Field Manger will serve as the direct onsite liaison as a representative of Malibu Floors and is required to clearly communicate to both the customer and the installers on behalf of the organization.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

  • Review and understand all installation requirements with Malibu Floors Project Manager as it relates to product scope and install method
  • Ability to read and understand work orders blueprints specifications and then correlate with diagrams showing designs using varying types of flooring material. All work instructions are to be verified to match provided diagrams and any discrepancies are to be resolved before work begins
  • Prepare notes regarding job progress and be prepared to discuss the state of each project during regular weekly of biweekly departmental meetings.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with customers and other subcontractors
  • Prewalk areas to receive ceramic tile LVT wood carpet and any other scopes under contract to ensure readiness.
  • Oversee installations to ensure all products within our scope including proper finish material underlayment waterproofing correct adhesives transitions and protection are being installed properly and are 100 complete
  • Oversee installations to ensure compliance with industry installation methods
  • Oversee installations to ensure quality
  • Postwalk areas that have been installed to ensure areas are complete and that quality is in compliance with Malibu Floors standards
  • Maintain awareness of all job schedules and coordinate efforts with Malibu Floors Project Manager effectively
  • Maintain customer installation schedule
  • Schedule deliveries with customers and coordinate with Malibu Floors personnel and subcontractor
  • Onsite material management (High Priority)
    • Ensure material is neatly stored and easy to inventory
    • Ensure material is being used appropriately by subcontractor
    • Notify Malibu Floors Project Manager with any quantity shortages or overages
  • Ensure proper equipment is in place to successfully offload material to defined location
    • Properly sized pallet jack
    • Pull Straps
    • Dock plate
    • Onsite equipment
      • Forklift
      • All terrain lift
  • Paperwork or electronic reporting responsibilities
    • Field imitated change orders
    • Weekly delivery request
    • Daily reports
    • JSA
    • Safety reports
    • Any other required report as per the contract
  • Attend all onsite meetings
  • With the use of spread sheets continuously monitor work progress
  • Manage subcontractors
    • QA/QC (as described in more detail earlier)
    • Enforce safety requirements
      • Tool inspections
      • PPE
      • Safety training as required by customer
    • Scheduling
    • Daily clean up
  • Problem solving
    • Out of tolerance substrate area not ready due to preceding subcontractor environmental conditions not acceptable etc.
      • Communicate issue to Malibu Floors Project Manager
      • Coordinate a solution with customers
      • Identify impact to schedule
    • Material shortages
      • Communicate issue to Malibu Floors Project Manager
      • Coordinate a solution
      • Identify impact to schedule
    • Delayed delivery
      • Coordinate with onsite customer personnel to resolve
      • Communicate with Malibu Floors Project Manager to resolve if needed
  • Responsible for timely completion of punch lists
  • As a liaison of Malibu Floors the Superintendent is required to be on site when Malibu Floors subcontractors are present. Saturday work is at the discretion of the General Superintendent.
  • Ongoing industry training required and will be made available

  • Must have a valid driver license and insurance that meets the companys requirements at all times

  • OSHA 10 required
  • OSHA 30 is required for some projects and if needed the training will be provided
  • Forklift license required
  • Medical First Aid training is required
  • The use of an IPAD is required
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferred
