Job Description

Were on the lookout for a missiondriven Special Education Teacher to join our team and make a direct impact in the classroom. If youre passionate about inclusive education collaborative teamwork and helping students thrive this opportunity is for you.

As an LBS1 Specialist you ll lead a resource room classroom developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each students academic and developmental needs. You ll work sidebyside with families support staff and general educators to ensure every student is supported on their unique learning path.

In this role you will be responsible for creating a structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and encourages student engagement. Youll design and adapt lesson plans to accommodate diverse learning styles and meet individualized academic and developmental goals. Your instruction will span core academic subjects while also nurturing essential socialemotional and life skills. Maintaining consistent open communication with families and caregivers is a key part of this role ensuring a strong partnership in supporting each student s growth. Youll track progress maintain accurate documentation and continuously refine your teaching strategies to meet evolving student needs. Ultimately your goal is to foster an inclusive and empowering classroom culture where all students feel confident valued and capable of success.

Requirements

Bachelor s or Master s degree in Special Education or a related field.
Prior experience supporting students with disabilities is strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for collaborative studentcentered instruction.
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement (required).
