Job Description
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the fleet operations to ensure efficiency.
- Develop and manage annual budgets related to fleet expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal transportation regulations.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and maintenance scheduling.
- Implement and evaluate fleet safety programs to minimize risk.
- Monitor fleet performance metrics and analyze data for improvements.
- Develop and enforce company policies regarding fleet usage.
- Negotiate contracts with vehicle suppliers and service providers.
- Train and supervise drivers and fleet staff on operational protocols.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and recommend solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of fleet status to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments to align fleet strategy with company objectives.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Implement ecofriendly practices and sustainability initiatives.
- Bachelors degree in logistics business administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management or logistics.
- Proven experience in budget management and cost control.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
- Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety protocols.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with fleet management software and tools.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with vendors.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Certifications related to fleet management preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strategic thinking and planning skills essential.
- Understanding of sustainability practices in fleet management.
- Willingness to travel as required for inspections and audits.
