Job Description

Role Type: 2 x 12month part time contracts available
Hours: 30 hours per week flexible days
Salary: $60000 $71000 per annum (pro rata) plus superannuation.


The opportunity:

GenV is seeking two motivated and detailoriented PartTime Clinical Data Linkage Managers to join our Data Governance and Analytics team. These entrylevel roles offer a unique opportunity to be part of one of Australias most ambitious health research projects working at the cutting edge of clinical data systems within hospital environments.

As a Clinical Data Linkage Manager youll support the design implementation and operation of systems that manage the complete lifecycle of hospital clinical data. Your work will include participant linkage data extraction secure transfer and governance all critical to the success of GenVs hospitalbased data initiatives.

This entrylevel role is ideal for candidates with 12 years of experience writing SQL scripts using Python and SQL Server. Were especially interested in highachieving undergraduate or masters students with strong analytical skills. The successful candidate will be able to understand methodologies for record matching and data extraction from birthing hospitals follow established protocols for secure data handling and write clear efficient SQL queries with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Generation Victoria (GenV) is a worldleading initiative creating a transformative research resource to drive better health and wellbeing for children and adults. By linking consented participant data with existing health environmental and service datasets GenV enables groundbreaking research for both observational and interventional studiesall while adhering to its core principle of minimal burden on participants.

Through enduring partnerships with hospitals government agencies and data custodianssuch as the Centre for Victorian Data Linkage Australian Bureau of Statistics EPA Victoria and the Department of Health and Aged CareGenV is pioneering largescale ethical and secure data integration.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Assess and identify where clinical data is stored within hospital databases and EMRs. Ensure all required data is identified systematically extracted and verified for accuracy.
  • Develop and execute SQL scripts to extract structured clinical data in alignment with hospital requirements.
  • Securely store transferred data following the designated naming conventions.
  • Extract unstructured data securely from PDF formats within hospital EMRs.
  • Use Adobe Acrobat tools to deidentify and redact personally identifiable information (PII) from PDF files.
  • Prepare highquality documentation of the linkage processes/protocols methodology and results to aid interpretation and assessment (including linkage methodology representativeness accuracy consistency privacy etc. of linked datasets for researchers

What we need from you:

  • High quality work experience and tertiary qualification (minimum: Honours/Masters) in a relevant discipline (e.g. health informatics statistics data science epidemiology public/clinical health) as evidenced by academic transcripts.
  • Experience in using Python SQL Server R or similar software packages in data linkage or to curate health datasets.
  • Experience in data management including record matching extraction storage and processing
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication time management and multitasking skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build and manage strong stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to work independently and problemsolve while also working constructively within a team environment
