What youll do:The Warehouse Manager works closely each day with the Warehouse Inventory Control Transportation Volunteer Engagement and Community Impact teams to develop adjust and execute plans that ensure daily operations are completed in a foodsafe workplacesafe inventoryaccurate and operationally efficient manner. Responsibilities include oversight of key functions such as receiving putaway replenishment order fulfillment and truck loading/unloading. This role leads a team consisting of a Dock Supervisor and Material Handlers managing the daily workload within assigned functional areas. The Warehouse Manager is also responsible for ensuring compliance meeting departmental goals and handling administrative tasks such as attendance and performance tracking for assigned team members. Key Responsibilities: - Provide leadership training and performance management for a warehouse team of approximately 11 staff members including a Dock Supervisor and Material Handlers.
- Set and communicate clear goals for the team in alignment with the Director of Operations and organizational KPIs.
- Establish and maintain efficient warehouse procedures to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Ensure full compliance with Feeding America AIB and all relevant federal state and local food safety and safety regulations.
- Oversee all warehouse functions including receiving storage replenishment picking shipping quality control and returns.
- Support and drive sustainability efforts including waste reduction and costsaving initiatives across warehouse operations.
- Investigate and resolve inventory inaccuracies and operational issues impacting customer satisfaction; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Certified Operator and Trainer for all material handling equipment in use at the facility riding electric pallet jacks manual and electric pallet jacks reach truck/ lifts and sitdown tow motor forklifts
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations on warehouse layout equipment and process design to support longterm efficiency.
- Work closely with the Transportation department to support effective and timely distribution of food across Middle and West Tennessee.
- Partner with the Senior Manager of Inventory Control to ensure accurate product flow support cycle counts improve inventory accuracy and prepare for seasonal surges.
- Collaborate with agency partners and other departments to optimize space and service levels.
- Serve as an essential team member during emergency response efforts including afterhours support as needed.
- Participates as a member of the Food Safety Committee and the Safety Committee
Perform other duties as assigned. Reports to:Director Operations SCHEDULE - Typical daytime workweek hours of Monday Friday 7 AM 4:30 PM. Hours may vary based on organizational needs including occasional evenings and weekends.
TRAVEL - Occasional daytime travel required up to 10 of work week within the service area. Current drivers license with copy of current auto insurance and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) results required.
Essential business/first responder In instances of a federal state or locally declared emergency Second Harvest is typically considered an essential business service and emergency responder. All employees may be required to perform regular or emergent duties onsite. Employee safety will be balanced with business and community necessity. Some positions are more likely to be required onsite than others. Education: Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain or Logistics preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience: 3 years of management experience within a warehouse and logistics environment. Food Industry experience is desirable. Skills & Capabilities: - Excellent leadership and supervisory skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products as well as warehouse systems and warehouse technology.
- Organize coordinate and direct projects.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
