We are seeking a talented individual to join our Marketing team at Marsh. This role will be based in Sydney or Melbourne. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Internal Communications Specialist


Internal Communications brings Marsh & McLennans brand purpose and strategy to life for colleagues by developing and executing multifaceted communications strategies and plans that ensure effective transparent actionable and timely leadership and colleague communications. As part of a Global Internal Communication team the Pacific Internal Communications team is responsible for creating clear and consistent messaging content across all channels including the intranet newsletters leadership messages presentations and town halls.

Reporting to the Pacific Internal Communications Leader the Internal Communications Specialist assists in implementing effective internal communication strategies and plans to support the regions business and growth priorities. The Internal Communications Specialist also collaborates with various departments stakeholders and teams to ensure consistent and effective communication practices throughout the region. They play a critical role in helping to ensure that enterprise global and International priority messages are integrated customised and activated locally in a measurable way to reach target audiences effectively.

12month contract

We will count on you to:

  • Implement internal communication strategies that align with Marsh McLennans purpose vision and priorities. This includes identifying target audiences crafting key messages and distributing communications via appropriate channels to convey information effectively.
  • Create engaging and informative content for internal communication materials such as weekly newsletters intranet content emails and social channels. Ensure content is clear consistent and aligned with Marsh McLennans values and culture.
  • Play a key role in the development and delivery of CEO hybrid town halls and leadership forums. These forums are delivered in person and online.
  • Contributes to the planning delivery and measurement of internal communication plans to help support the of company strategies and increase employee engagement and ultimately promotes a positive workplace culture.
  • Analyses distribution metrics to measure communication effectiveness. Coordinates distribution and tracking of communications to build appropriate audience profiles and lists and ensures timely delivery and followup.
  • Assists with development and distribution of surveys and the solicitation of feedback from employees to help in measuring employee satisfaction and engagement and evaluating the results of communications plans campaigns and strategies.
  • Provides recommendations to improve internal communications by tracking employee understanding and retention and summarising employee satisfaction surveys.

What you need to have:

  • 3 years experience in an internal communication role with strong writing and editing skills. Experience in financial services will be an advantage.
  • A proven track record in developing and executing internal communication campaigns working across numerous channels and collaborating across teams.
  • Ability to think laterally and creatively and superior communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence outcomes at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders with a focus on building relationships and exercising sound judgment.
