Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Defines design requirements and hardware specifications based on customer or user requirements.
Contributes to the development and documentation of electronic system architectures.
Lead the creation of designs of analog and digital electronic circuit schematics for microcontrollerbased systems meeting performance objectives.
Analyzes circuits using calculation and simulation methods to assess performance limits effects of environmental and load stresses and timing interfaces to ensure consistent performance in safety critical applications. Good knowledge on Power Integrity Power Sequencing LTSpice Pspice.
Completes deliverables related to design of systems and subsystems of the overall electrical architecture.
Must have strong experience in designing products with multiple power sources like AC/DC DC/DC LithiumIon Battery Pack AA Battery.
Develops modifies and approves electrical design documentation specifications and drawings.
Supervises/coordinates an engineer and/or technician on assigned work
Defines appropriate test methods to verify designs meet their performance requirements.
Understands and advice the layout of circuit assemblies to meet emissions and immunity performance requirements and design for manufacturability guidelines.
Transitions products to manufacturing and ensures robust products and manufacturing processes.
Develops and maintains an effective and corroborative working relationship with internal and external development partners.
Resolves competing constraints between interrelated functions (engineering purchasing manufacturing regulatory marketing etc. required to deliver the product to market.
Executes protocols and testing required to validate the safety and effectiveness of the design(s).
Leads the troubleshooting and problemsolving efforts related to electrical aspects of devices and associated systems.
Creates and communicates design/test plans tasks deliverables and status. Manages time and resources to meet committed schedule milestones.
Qualifications:
- A demonstrated track record in electromechanical hardware development preferably medical devices or other highly regulated products such as military hardware.
- Knowledge and experience in digital and analog design.
- Must have strong experience in designing product with multiple power sources like AC/DC DC/DC LithiumIon Battery Pack AA Battery.
- Experience testing electronic devices to meet immunity and emissions requirements
- Knowledge and experience using CAD systems for printed circuit board schematic design and layout (Altium Designer preferred) and data acquisition software (LabVIEW)
- Knowledge of standards such as IEC 60601 IEC 61010 UL ANSI and ASTM
- Specific experience in design and development of sensing subsystems highly desirable
- Knowledge and experience in design of embedded microcontrollerbased electronics products is desirable.
- Good to have knowledge / experience in statistical analysis tools like Minitab etc..
Education and/or Experience:
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Electrical or Electronics or related Engineering and 8 to12 years of experience. Prior experience in infusion pump domain is a plus
