One of our clients in the Fort Meade MD needs a Sr. Splunk Engineer for a permanent position.

  • Position: Sr. Splunk Engineer

  • Clearance: TS/SCI with FS Poly
Note: The position offers 10 yearly bonus. The position also offers referral bonus of $1000.

Job Description:

A Sr. Splunk Engineer is an individual who operates independently without direct supervision who is responsible for leading the delivery of an engagement with the sole intent of providing immense value for customers. To be successful in this role a Senior Engineer will be expected to not only maintain a mastery in a capability aligned with service practices but also developing pathways towards future opportunities they would like to explore. Additionally they will be expected not only to execute all tasks provided in a statement of work but also be expected to lead a team of Associate Level I and Level II Engineers in their daytoday operations and career development. This individual will be the most senior engineer on a project and will be expected to assist Associate Level I and Level II Engineers with tasking. Excellent communication skills along with sufficient leadership skills are essential for this role as these individuals will interact with clients and engineers regularly in a leadership capacity.

How youll make an impact:
  • Execute all tasks outlined in the scope of work and follow standard operating procedures with no direct oversight.
  • Lead discussions with clients to analyze and understand their needs and objectives.
  • Aid Associate Level I and Level II Engineers on sophisticated tasking.
  • Lead technical discussions with the client to understand their engineering requirements.
  • Lead the technical support strategy for clients during and after project implementation.
  • Serve as the escalation level for complex issues as necessary.
  • Document project progress issues and resolutions in a concise and timely manner.
  • Consistently selfreview work to identify and improve approaches for producing highquality work.
  • Review work of Associate Level I and Level II Engineers to assist in their approach for producing highquality work.
  • Serve as a level of mentorship for Associate Level I and Level II Engineers
  • Report any issues with the team to senior leadership as well as any kudos or positive feedback.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction.
  • Adhere to availability standards for responding to client inquiries.
  • Lead the communication of technical concepts effectively to clients.
  • Identify and communicate crosssell and upsell opportunities with the account team across services.
What we are looking for
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly required.
  • Splunk Core certification required.
  • Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) certification preferred.
  • Splunk Certified Architect/Consultant preferred.
  • Experience with or interest in learning deploying and maintaining Splunk SOAR.
  • Security Certification (i.e Security CISSP etc) required.
  • Experience operating in classified environments.
  • Bachelors degree in a related area or at least 8 years of related work experience.
  • Robust understanding of identity SIEM cybersecurity and infrastructure concepts.
  • Strong Linux and scripting (Python Ansible Teraform JSON others. experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Splunk instances.
  • Create custom Splunk reports dashboards and content per customer requirements.
  • Experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC)
  • Strong understanding of governance and compliance specifically with FAR DFARs CUI and CMMC.
  • Broad understanding of FedRAMP and IL constructs.
  • Strong understanding of leadership concepts and ideas.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Experience leading an engineering team preferably having handled tasking resolving personnel issues and providing actionable feedback
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel to meet client needs
