Student Loans Company is a nonprofit making Governmentowned organisation to provide loans and grants to students in universities and colleges in the UK. We are looking for motivated and dynamic individuals with a passion for delivering excellent customer service to join our busy DSA team in Darlington.
Our DSA Officers are responsible for assessing students eligibility and entitlement to DSAs in accordance with the relevant regulations and Equality Act whilst ensuring appropriate support is agreed for DSA customers in line with Government guidelines. In addition DSA Officers will liaise with a number of stakeholders including external Needs Assessors Disability Advisors and thirdparty providers to ensure we provide the right support to our customers.
This a busy and varied role includes delivering a highlevel of customer service and provide advice to customers with varying disabilities through a variety of communication channels including inbound/outbound calls emails webchat and letter.
SLC offer a blended working model which will typically be 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.
What you bring:
To join our team in Darlington you must demonstrate the following:
- Significant experience in working in a customerfocussed role with the ability to empathise with customers who may be considered vulnerable.
- Excellent IT skills with significant experience working with MS Office email and multiple software platforms.
- A passion for customer service with the ability to understand customers needs and a desire to deliver high standards.
- The ability to use your own initiative whilst working within defined guidelines and adapt to changing working environments in a positive manner.
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively through a variety of channels including telephone email and letter.
- A commitment to continue your own learning and development whilst maintaining the key knowledge and skills required for your role.
