Were looking for an
Assistant Underwriter/Junior Underwriter Political Risk and Credit
Based in London and reporting to the Head of Political Risk and Credit youll work alongside our established and successful team to execute the class strategy contribute to the production of the business plan and attract and underwrite Political Risk and Credit business.
Hamilton Global Specialty is our multiplatform specialty insurer operating primarily through a Lloyds Syndicate and Dublin operating company with a managing general agency in the US.
What you will do
- Contribute towards the Political Risk and Credit Underwriting Strategy
- Reporting on and communication of underwriting activities to senior management
- Monitor statistics aggregates perform and supervise some administrative tasks
- Development of business opportunities
- Management of relationships with brokers within the Political Risk and Credit market
- Where appropriate be called upon to represent the Company at various market meetings conferences and committees
- Underwrite in accordance with the business plan
- Operate all controls as instructed within the area of responsibility
- Report any risk related concerns to the Risk function
What you require for the role
- Demonstrable Political Risk and Credit class knowledge & experience from within insurance or broking
- Preferably Lloyds experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders
- Professional with excellent organizational skills
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a highperforming and motivated team
- Ability to productively leverage data and technology
- Resultsoriented and growth mindset
- Open innovative and inclusive mindset
