You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailFife NHS Board is looking for two new members to join its Board. We are looking for one member with finance audit and risk experience and one member who will serve as our NonExecutive Whistleblowing Champion.
NHS Fife plays a crucial role in Scotlands healthcare system providing essential health services to the people of Fife. Fife has two main hospitals: the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy which provides specialist and acute services including Accident & Emergency a range of medical and surgical specialties childrens services paediatrics neonatal and obstetric services. The Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline hosts a range of inpatient services including a new gynaecology unit day surgery mental health inpatient beds a number of ambulatory care services and the Minor Injuries Unit for West Fife.
Having a diverse Board improves decision making and builds a vibrant and creative environment which is responsive to the changing demands on the health and care system and the needs of all the communities which we serve. We welcome applications from the widest possible range of people who meet the requirements of the roles as set out in the person specification and who can bring wide and varied perspectives to our work. In this round We particularly welcome applications from candidates from Black and minority ethnic backgrounds.
Although each of the roles we are seeking to fill requires particular experience those appointed will also be expected to make a full contribution to the work of the Board including participation its varied governance committees the Fife Health & Social Care Partnerships Integration Joint Board and the Fife Health Charity.
You will be offered the training you need to make a strong contribution.
Remuneration and time commitment: The remuneration for these two roles is based on the requirements for one day 8 hours) per week at 276 per day. The rate is 14352 per annum which is nonpensionable. This remuneration will rise to 312 per day in April 2026 and 342 per day in April 2027. Reasonable expenses incurred will be reimbursed.
For the Financerelated role an additional time commitment of one extra day per week may be required. This would come at the Board Chairs discretion and as a result of the committeerelated duties of this specific role. This will be discussed between the appointee and the Board Chair and will be remunerated appropriately on the rates outlined above.
Location:The Board meetings are held at Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy. The expectation is that there will be a blend of virtual and physical meetings and a physical presence will be required to be able to carry out the full range of Board activities across Fife.
Interviews:Interviews will be held on 9 and 10 June at the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.
It is unlikely that we will be able to offer an alternative interview date but a virtual option will be offered to anyone requiring it as an adjustment.
