What Youll Do

  • Assists in auditing current policies procedures practices forms reports and records; reviews and analyzes work flow and performance; distributes and maintains records; and documents specific action taken
  • Formulates and implements new or improved programs and procedures to ensure efficient and effective process control and reporting
  • Collaborates with other operating and service departments to develop effective programs and procedures for supporting Plant activities
  • Reviews and analyzes applicable documentation to include legal contracts and subcontracts involving administrative functions including procurement legal budgetand other areas
  • Assists in the preparation of administrative procedures and support documents for publication covering the entire plant
  • As applicable to work assignment provides prompt accurate response to management and employee requests for assistance regarding area of responsibility
  • Responsible for improving knowledge skills and responsibilities in assigned area
  • Performs special duties that require attained specialized skills in area of assignment
  • May conduct training in assigned area of responsibility
  • Accountable for all direct output assigned and for providing direct output support to his/her manager
  • Responsible for maintaining a thorough knowledge of applicable Federal State DOE Corporate and Plant rules regulations and Plantwide operating policies and procedures
  • Recommends prepares and maintains operating procedures systems policies and controls pertaining to the assigned area of responsibility
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Required to attend and/or successfully complete training classes as determined by the Training and Development Technologies Department through General Employee Training (Reference DOE Order 426.2 and Management
  • Participates in worker involvement including input to work planning and methods to identify hazards and controls
  • Understands a workers right to stop work when they feel their own or others personal safety is jeopardized
  • Attends all required safety meetings and training and offers suggestions on improvements to the work environment
  • Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma with a minimum 4 years of relevant experience
    • Typical administrative experience ranging from 46 years
  • OR an Associate degree with a minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Must be able to perform all duties and functions outlined above
  • Must meet initial employment requirements
  • Must be able to read write and comprehend applicable written and/or oral instructions
  • Must be physically fit to perform the above job functions as determined by Medical Evaluation
  • This position requires thorough knowledge and ability to establish maintain communicate and coordinate advanced administrative programs and projects as assigned involving issues such as strategic planning human resources employee benefits budget/financial analysis training records management project management technical writing information management safeguards and security and procurement
  • This position requires proficiency in word processing spreadsheet database and graphics software applications

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required candidate must complete a counterintelligencescope polygraph pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
