Make an impact at Serco

As a Correctional Officer at the Adelaide Remand Centre youll be actively providing prisoner safety protection and support through dynamic monitoring and respectful engagement while also ensuring the security of the facility. Youll join a multidisciplinary team to provide best practice prisoner intake assessment and induction processes. You will support the prisoner transitioning into the SA prison system or release into the community

As a Correctional Officer youll make a difference by:

  • Ensuring facility safety and security through dynamic monitoring and compliance protocols
  • Supporting a culturally sensitive environment and respecting diversity
  • Supervising daily prisoner activities and management regimes
  • Participating in prisoner intake transfer and discharge processes
  • Being a member of the multidisciplinary team that provides health mental health and case management services
  • Responding to incidents with professionalism and adhering to deescalation procedures
  • Promoting prisoner reintegration into the community and ensuring contact with family community and cultural supports and legal assistance

  • Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role including control and restraint training
  • Integrity professionalism and a commitment to ethical behaviour
  • A valid drivers licence and the ability to obtain relevant clearances
