About Harbinger

Harbinger Motors Inc. is a Southern Californiabased electric vehicle manufacturer on a mission to transform the automotive and transportation industries bringing to market EVs developed from the ground up to address the needs of the Medium Duty vehicle industry. And importantly Harbingers vehicles will be priced for zero acquisition premium relative to traditional gas and dieselbased competitors removing one of the most tenacious barriers to EV adoption.

Harbingers team with operations in Southern California and Michigan includes industry veterans with expertise in powertrain battery chassis and software development along with leaders in advanced manufacturing corporate development operations and finance. Our team members come from leading innovators both in and out of the automotive industry including Tesla Rivian Canoo Ford Anduril and SpaceX.

Founded in 2021 Harbinger is a venturebacked startup on a rapid growth trajectory looking for candidates that thrive on tackling complex challenges and who share in our passion to bring clean transportation alternatives to a segment of the market starving for innovation.

Job title Software Test Engineer

Job duties Validate software for electric vehicles. Design troubleshoot and maintain test systems. Model
electromechanical systems and control algorithms in Simulink. Author software requirements derived from
system level specifications. Author test cases against software requirements for unit and integration tests.
Document software issues uncovered by HiL and Vehicle testing for resolution. Manage promotion of vehicle
software packages to release status. Write test scripts for automated testing. Develop controls algorithms for
code generation. Up to 10 domestic/international travel.

Education and Experience required Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field and 5 years of experience in automotive software
testing.

Background 5 years of experience with Simulink Stateflow and Mathworks. 5 years of experience with
software test development and automation. 5 years of experience writing software requirements and test
plans using PLM tools including Polarion DOORS or Jama. 5 years of experience with vehicle communication
technologies including CAN CANFD and Automotive Ethernet. 5 years of experience with automotive
industry test hardware including the following: dSpace vTest Studio and Typhoon. 5 years of experience with
electric vehicle propulsion systems including torque path controls motor controls high voltage systems and
system derate strategies. 4 years of experience with test case automation tools including Tracetronic .
2 years of experience developing embedded controls algorithms for electric vehicle systems. 2 years of
experience with codegeneration using Mathworks embedded coder.
