Under the supervision of the Dean this critical position for the Division of Business Technology the Administrative Assistant serves as a liaison with other divisions colleges students faculty members and the community. The Administrative Assistant provides various complex administrative support services for fulltime faculty staff and adjunct instructors in the Division of Business Technology. Responsibilities also include interpreting operating policies and administering duties in a capacity that necessitates independent judgment. Maintain the Divisions course scheduling and instructor database. Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
This position requires a high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. Preferred candidate will have bachelors degree and one 1 year of related work experience OR Associate degree and three 3 years of related work experience OR a high school diploma and five 5 years of work experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with appropriate software including Microsoft Word Excel Outlook Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat. Demonstrated experience managing administrative tasks under limited supervision. Strong organization skills the ability to troubleshoot complex problems and work independently and as part of a team are critical. Working knowledge of completing and submitting contracts and supporting employment documentation is a plus. Individual will display selfdirection leadership cooperation and initiative. The ability to work effectively with administrative support staff academic deans department heads coordinators and faculty across all campuses while maintaining professionalism is a must. Must be organized and detailoriented. Must be able to train other employees and exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures. A strong background in customer service and an excellent foundation of interpersonal skills is essential.
