Role: Administration Assistant

Department: Operational Support Unit

Location:Maltby

Salary:(pro rata)

Hours: 26

Contract Type: Permanent

We are looking for an Administration Assistant to undertake the viewing and processing of offences detected by camera or other road traffic offences.

Key responsibilities:

  • Record and process all notices using the appropriate computer software packages.
  • Complete opening scanning and verification of incoming correspondence received.
  • Undertake verification duties paying a high level of attention to detail.
  • To expedite and search for additional evidence gathering as required.
  • Deal with both external and internal telephone.
  • Deal with correspondence by communicating with members of the public police colleagues magistrates court staff and partner agencies by telephone or face to face.
  • To prepare prosecution files for Magistrates Court.
  • General administration/clerical tasks including post duties.
  • Monitor the intercom and help members of the public with regards with regards to their enquiries.

Skills and experience:

  • Clerical/Administrative experience in a busy fast paced office environment
  • Experience of Windows based computer systems
  • Ability to deal with confidential information and record data accurately.
  • Be able to demonstrate investigative skills.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a prerequisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
