Act as a strategic partner in providing employee and labour relations advice support and guidance with respect to collective agreements policies and legislation interpretation/compliance to assist all divisions in achieving their operational goals
Participate in engagement initiatives with employee groups and union representatives that focuses on communication planning and problem solving to ensure excellent employee and labour relations
Support organizational change initiatives for assigned client groups
Provide resolutions to both labour and employee relations issues by conducting thorough and objective investigations
Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching managers and employees
Provide confidential professional and balanced support to operational leaders when addressing
sensitive employee issues
Build trusting relationships with client groups to ensure effective delivery of HR programs
Analyze and support HR metrics
Act as a Lead on special HR related projects
Complete other duties as assigned
Key Requirements:
8 10 years of experience in human resources areas including 5 years in a leadership role
PostSecondary education in human resources
CPHR designation
Knowledge and experience of current Labour Laws Human Rights and Employment Standards
Experience working with labour relations issues
Experience working in a large complex multiple stakeholder and unionized environments
Strong leadership skills focused on results and teamwork with a client service orientation
Advanced knowledge and experience of current Human Rights and Employment Standards to resolve matters independently while using appropriate judgment to seek guidance and counsel as required to navigate complex matters
Excellent negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal)
Demonstrated experience in writing professional documentation such as policies procedures labour briefings business cases disciplinary or corrective action and corporate communications
High attention to detail and a proven track record of project ; acquisition experience is ideal
Ability to work independently under pressure and adapt to evolving priorities and timelines
Customerfocused attitude with high level of professionalism
Demonstrated ability to influence change within the organization by building and leveraging professional working relationships
Travel across the region (AB MB SK & Northern BC) will be required 15 20
