Job Description

Closing Date: Monday April 28 2025 @ 4:00 P.M. (MST)

Salary Range: $19.06 $22.88/hour

**APPLICANT MUST HAVE A VALID UNRESTRICTED INSURABLE DRIVERS LICENSE**

ESSENTIAL DUTIES FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the guidance of the Property Manager the incumbent performs the following duties and responsibilities which are divided into the following areas:

Shipping and Receiving:

  • Receives unloads stages freight both manually and with equipment such as a pallet jack.
  • Signs freight bill or shipping documents.
  • Inspects shipment thoroughly for accuracy and damages.
  • Acquires the correct purchase document to validate the purchase.
  • Consults with the Property Manager Receiving Specialist or Buyers to resolve shipment issues.
  • Ensures safety measures at all times following regulatory requirements such as Occupational Safety andHealth Administration (OSHA) National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) etc.

Assures compliance with handling hazardous materials or products. References the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).

  • Follows established procedures to report and document shipment discrepancies such as overages shortages damaged shipments.
  • Initiates appropriate corrective action and completes necessary documentation of any receiving issues.
  • Utilizes the receiving software to accurately account for the shipment.
  • If applicable assembles equipment and furniture.
  • Delivers to the accurate department or unit. Follows specific instructions for managing and delivering sensitive shipment.
  • Ensures all products are safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping and keeps record of shipping information.
  • Selects proper storage areas for particular items assembles shelving stores and stacks and pelletize items in consideration of their use size shape quantity and possibility of contamination to or from other items
  • Utilizes various soft wares to monitor and track shipments delivery or returns.
  • Identifies any missing lost or damaged materials. Notifies supervisor immediately.

Medical Gas Management:

  • Receives inspects and stages various medical gas cylinders both manually and with equipment such as a pallet jack.
  • Verifies the accuracy of products purity levels quantity and quality of the products before signing the delivery ticket.
  • Maintains open communication with the Receiving Specialist and the vendor.
  • Consults with the Property Manager to resolve any medical gas issues.
  • Ensures safety measures at all times following regulatory requirements such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) etc.
  • Monitors the medical gases gauges and levels daily. Reports readings and findings to the vendor.
  • Maintains safety measures of the medical gas storage areas and the liquid O2 tanks.

Mail Processing:

  • Responsible for inspecting categorizing verifying certifying and processing all in and outbound FDIHB mail.
  • Processes mail in accordance with current postal regulations utilizing postal equipment.
  • Processes parcels to be shipped.
  • Utilizes various soft wares to maintain records files and various reports.
  • Monitors to ensure postage funds are readily available.
  • Coordinates with Finance Department and vendor to acquire additional postage funds.
  • Maintains the hospital mail room.
  • Unloads and packs trucks and courier vans as required.

Management of Work Orders:

  • Utilizes the current work order maintenance and management software to prioritize work load.
  • Performs analysis of existing furniture as to condition and suitability for renovation and relocations following regulatory standards.
  • Applies knowledge analysis and management of office moves. Ensures furniture and move services are provided within allotted time frame of the project
  • Assists departments with research and selection of furniture design layouts and procurement as required for

new construction and/or renovation projects.

  • Works closely with the Project Managers Quality and Safety department.
  • Responsible for coordinating delivery and installation of furniture fixtures and equipment.
  • Participates in the hospital Incident Command System by providing logistical support and services.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction is maintained by providing other tasks such as set up of tables chairs acquiring products from various stores.

Property Management:

  • Manages and maintains the disposition of noncapitalized equipment.
  • Tags applicable noncapitalized medical equipment and updates the asset database.
  • Reviews purchase orders for equipment repairs and warranty claims as required to properly account for medical equipment shipped for repairs and calibration.

Other job duties:

  • Ensures warehouse and property storage areas are kept tidy safe and secure at all times. Conducts monthly environment of care rounds. Observes warehouse safety and fire prevention regulations.
  • Participates in continuous quality improvement projects.
  • Follows the organizations purchase request process to replenish current stock and order new products.
  • Follows the organizations travel policy to initiate travel request documents.
  • Assist with training of newly employed workers.

MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Two years of direct experience in warehousing logistics shipping and receiving.

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency (HSE)

FDIHB and its facilities are located within the Navajo Nation and in accordance with Navajo Nation law has implemented a Navajo/Indian Preference in Employment Policy.
