The Medical Assistant will focus on providing comprehensive OB/GYN services throughout all phases of a womans life.
This is a fulltime position working Monday Thursday from 8:30 am 5:00 pm and Friday from 7:30 am 4:00 pm out of our Edina location.
OBGYN Specialists is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (iHealth) a group of local medical practices owned and led by its physicians on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.
Essential Functions:
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patient recording medical history confirming purpose of visit.
- Measure vital signs including weight blood pressure pulse temperature and document all information in patients chart.
- Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and finger sticks.
- Performs inhouse testing including UA Hemoglobin 1 hour glucose and 3 hour glucose.
- Assist physician and/or nurse practitioners in exam rooms.
- Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or nurse practitioner.
- Ensure all related reports labs and information is filed is available in patients medical records prior to their appointment.
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies maintain instruments prepare sterilization as required.
- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures emergency medications expired medications cold sterilization fluid change etc..
- Any and all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program or MLT program.
- AAMA or AMT certification preferred.
- 1 years experience of Medical Assistant experience in a clinic setting is preferred not required.
- Willing to train Medical Assistant that has completed their Externship.
Benefits & Compensation:
- Actual starting pay will vary based on education skills and experience.
- A $750.00 signon bonus will be offered payable on first paycheck with a 12month commitment. Internal applicants are not eligible for the signon bonus.
