Position Summary
This person directly supervises the daily operation of catering including delivery contracts to ensure that daily schedules of activity are established and quality standards are maintained. They will also assume responsibilities and authority during catering events as needed. This person will work with management and coworkers to instill and foster the value of the Villanova Mission Statement and the Dining Services Mission Statement. Duties And Responsibilities
Demonstrates complete understanding of departmental requirements and policies. Monitors daily performance of staff including the quality of products and service sanitation and food handling practices and also ensures compliance with established standards. Provides leadership to the staff during events. Provides assistance to chefs and associate directors with production serving set ups and breakdowns of events. Supervises the Catering Delivery Assistants and monitors the deliveries. Accurately inventories supplies daily and requisitions items needed to meet par levels. Maintains all supplies small wares and equipment for the catering kitchen and catering storage areas. Assists with daily schedules and work assignments. Shifts staff to complete essential duties when need arises. Coordinates delivery schedules and drop offs. Trains staff assists with orientation of new employees and students. Routinely inspects areas of assigned responsibility and reports all substandard safety and sanitation security or equipment conditions to the manager. Consistently monitors standards and makes recommendations for change Performs other duties as assigned (daily/weekly cleaning)special projects.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma/equivalent or 2 years of food service experience required Valid Driver License required with a good driving record and no traffic violations. Must be able to meet and maintain VU driving privileges as outlined by Villanovas Risk Managements Motor Vehicle Record Policy for Drivers of University Vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications
2 years experience in catering or college/university food service Serv Safe Certification Ramp Certification
