We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join Avivas UK Retirement legal team. This role is perfect for someone newly qualified or with some postqualification experience who is eager to develop expertise in financial services law particularly in pensions annuities and equity release. If youre ready to work on highimpact projects and gain exposure to strategic legal matters this could be the next step in your career.

A bit about the job:

As a Legal Counsel in our UK Retirement legal team youll provide legal advice and support on a broad range of matters helping Avivas Bulk and Individual Annuity Equity Release and Investments business teams navigate complex regulations and strategic initiatives. Youll draft and negotiate contracts related to new business and distribution advise on legal risks and collaborate with colleagues across the legal function and the wider business. This role also involves tracking legal developments that impact our industry and working closely with senior legal leaders to manage key risks.

Skills and experience were looking for:

  • Qualified Solicitor or CILEX authorised to practice in the UK.

  • Knowledge of pensions annuities and/or equity release (desirable but not essential).

  • Strong ability to manage projects negotiate contracts and collaborate with stakeholders.

  • Commercial mindset with a proactive approach to learning and problemsolving.

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
