    Purpose:

    Jesuit education also known as Ignatian education is an approach to education inspired by the teachings and principles of St. Ignatius of Loyola the founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) a Catholic religious order. Jesuit education is known for its emphasis on intellectual rigor moral and ethical development and the holistic formation of individuals. Jesuit education is not limited to Catholic students and our own and many more Jesuit institutions welcome students of various religious backgrounds. The principles of Jesuit education have been influential in the development of a wellrounded valuesbased approach to education that extends beyond the classroom and into the broader community.

    TheStudent Activities Directoris a part of the team dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive student life experience at Seattle Prep. This position oversees club moderators and supports the smooth functioning of cocurricular activities. This includes overseeing budgets event planning evaluating program effectiveness and communications regarding club events. The Student Activities Director reports to the Assistant Principal for Community and Belonging. The FTE allocation for this role is roughly 40 Student Activities Director and 60 serving another school need such as teaching.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Supervise and support club moderators for the 30 cocurricular clubs at Seattle Prep.
    • Lead the hiring process for new moderators.
    • Monitor budgets support events and evaluate program effectiveness in collaboration with moderators.
    • Schedule standing meetings with club moderators and meetings among moderators to facilitate collaboration
    • Oversee the new club application creation and evaluation process.
    • Colead the Ignatian Leadership Conference and participate in similar student leadership development programs.
    • Integrate the faith formation leadership development and DEIB pillars of Preps mission into club programs and activities.
    • Oversee club representation at Open House and other admissions events.
    • Lead recruitment and marketing efforts for cocurricular clubs including Club and Window fairs and promotion through various platforms.
    • Work with the AP for Community and Belonging on new student welcoming programs. Serve in a leadership role for Panther Day Freshman and Transfer Orientations and similar events.
    • Evaluate programs and envision new ways to create a welcoming culture through club participation.
    • Maintain a highly visible presence throughout the school and at school sponsored activities/events.
    • Assist with supervision of various activities including serving as an administrative presence at some dances sporting and cocurricular events.
    • Enhance participation and engagement in existing and future cocurricular activities.
    • Serve on various committees and leadership teams as requested.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • ABachelors Degree and three years of related experience or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
    • All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to Preps mission and values especially as it relates to diversity equity inclusion and belonging
    • Supportive of the mission of a Catholic Jesuit high school and formation of the whole person
    • Experience in program implementation and evaluation
    • Excellent interpersonal collaboration communication and organizational skills
    • Experience working with high school students in extracurricular programming leadership development or student engagement roles
    • Strong organizational communication and collaboration skills with the ability to plan and oversee a variety of student activities clubs and events

    Other Details:

    • Job Classification: Exempt. This position is not eligible for overtime pay
    • Salary Range: $26000 $30000 annually for this parttime role; may be combined with another role at the school for fulltime employment. Salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data applicants skills and prior relevant experience degrees certifications

    Our outstanding benefits package includes an allowance of $19800 annually (prorated for parttime employment) that may be applied to benefits including medical dental vision life disability insurance and flexible spending account. Employees who do not elect insurance may choose to receive the benefits allowance as supplemental pay. Our 403b program includes up to a 7.5 employer contribution when employee match considerations are met. Tuition remission generous time off sick leave and a schoolsponsored medical leave program are also significant parts of our benefits package.
