With 632 beds Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital is a major teaching and research hospital and home to five residency programs and a cardiology fellowship in partnership with Wayne State University School of Medicine. Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital is verified as a Level II trauma center and accredited by the Joint Commission as a primary stroke center. The hospital is also known for clinical excellence and innovation in the fields of orthopedics neurosciences womens health heart and vascular and cancer care.
Provides leadership for all Pharmacy clinical activities within assigned area. Embraces the goals/objectives encompassing Pharmaceutical activities. Promotes team efforts with pharmacy and nonpharmacy personnel to manage and achieve departmental/corporate objectives. Provides support for staff development so that staff meets/exceeds minimum competency standards and encourages/supports staff to continue professional development. Demonstrates good judgment and decisiveness throughout daily activities. Maintains knowledge of current pharmaceutical practice and demonstrates a personal commitment to professional growth. Serves as role model of clinical excellence to staff pharmacists. Supports management by providing oversight guidance and support for all assigned areas. Participates in the planning organization implementation and follow up of new programs and activities. A key role of the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is to promote safe appropriate and costeffective medication therapy.
This position will be the clinical content expert over the Cardiology areas at Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital. Part of this positions responsibilities will also be to serve as one of the clinical content experts in Cardiology for all Corewell Health Hospitals with a focus on anticoagulation. Other responsibilities will include being a primary Cardiology preceptor for pharmacy students and residents creating Corewell Health educational content around anticoagulation participate in research and take on pharmacy improvement projects. This position requires strong collaboration and experience working with a variety of multidisciplinary teams as they will be the pharmacy clinical content expert in these areas to help achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
This position will staff clinically in an area that supports the Cardiology teams at Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital. Clinical rounding and direct patient care will be 90 on site with 10 time for other system level initiatives which may be remote. Weekend staffing required every sixth weekend.
