We Require
Two years of experience performing office administrative and clerical duties
High School Diploma or GED
Postsecondary education may substitute for six months of the experience requirement
We Also Value
Specialized clerical or technical experience in a law office judicial or law enforcement environment
Skilled in basic computer use
Knowledge of basic office procedures and operations and use of office equipment such as phone fax and copy machines
Ability toExercise independent judgment within established guidelines and departmental policies and procedures prepare word processing documents and spreadsheets Interact effectively with attorneys elected officials clients professionals and staff andfollow written and oral instructions
Job Contributions
Provide specialized clerical and technical support in processing public records requests
Identify Review and redact digital records including bodyworn camera evidence and criminal interviews
Conduct thorough reviews of redacted records to ensure accuracy and completeness
Take direction from paralegals and attorneys regarding redacting records
Prepare and process specialized paperwork as directed sometimes requiring confidentiality
Utilize computer to look up and retrieve case information from various databases
Prepare documents and digital files for disclosure to the public
Assists with special projects including photocopying binding and ordering supplies
Utilize calendaring programs and organize electronic files
Utilize various redaction software and related tools to efficiently complete assigned tasks
Comply with relevant legal rules statutes and office processes related to public records
May occasionally require the use of skills to provide English/Spanish translation
Working Conditions
The Maricopa County Attorneys Office requires a thorough background check of all successful candidates and is authorized to test prospective employees for the presence of illegally accessed . Testing is conducted once an offer has been extended and prior to placement
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona drivers license by the time of hire
Office setting in a high volume fastpaced environment. Requires long periods of sitting while completing computer activities
May be required to travel to and from various County locations for meetings and trainings utilizing personal or County vehicles
Ability to move up to 20 pounds floor to waist and push/pull up to 20 pounds at a distance of up to 100 feet
After a successful sixmonth period after hire employees are eligible to telework up to 16 hours per week with supervisor approval. The ability to telework depends on the employees position and business needs
