Department Summary

The University of Oregon Intercollegiate Athletic Departments primary purpose is to provide a unique opportunity for studentathletes to be developed tested and encouraged to reach their maximum potential in every aspect of their lives. It is the steadfast goal of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to provide the most outstanding studentathlete experience by helping them to achieve excellence both in the classroom and in their chosen sport. The department has approximately 280 administrative & classified employees and hosts over 600000 spectators annually and represents the University of Oregon in athletic competitions with other universities & colleges.

Position Summary

This position coordinates the policies procedures budget and operations necessary to provide comprehensive care for intercollegiate athlete population with the Department of Athletic Medicine and in collaboration with the Chief Health Officer (CHO). This position supervises Certified Athletic Trainers and department classified employee(s). This position reports to the Chief Health Officer (CHO).

Special Requirements:
Ability to work both indoor and outdoor events.
Evening and weekend work hours are required as well as team travel.

Minimum Requirements

Masters degree in Athletic Training Athletic Medicine or a closely related field.
National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) certification.
Five years of progressive athletic training experience at the intercollegiate level.
Eligibility for licensure as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) in the State of Oregon.
Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an athletic training setting.
Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED).

Professional Competencies

Ability to effectively communicate with athletes coaches medical professionals and administrators.
Ability to listen problemsolve and apply critical thinking skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fastpaced environment.
Strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience at a Division I university.
Seven to ten years of progressive athletic training experience at the intercollegiate level.
Ability to apply advanced clinical skills to support Athletic Healthcare is strongly desired.
