Job Purpose:
R&D Manager is responsible for leading new products development innovation and renovation to support customer in APAC region from concept through launch including 1 idea generation 2 benchtop formulation 3 pilot plant assessment of process feasibility and 4 final commercialization with an alignment of customer requirement food compliance and quality standard. Responsible for managing and organizing R&D resource; R&D team member materials and cost budgets.
Main Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage supervise and motivate R&D team to generate new idea product innovation development of new product improving existing product and deliver product/concept to align or exceed customer expectation.
- To monitor and ensure that new materials and new products are developed based on customers specification agreement regulations and quality standard.
- Monitor and follow up team to ensure that department/company objectives have been met or exceeded.
- Work closely with commercial team to create good relationship with customer to understand customer insight/requirement.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional team such as purchasing production and quality department to ensure that whole R&D process (new ingredients sourcing product development industrial trial and commercialization) is executed within a timely manner with food safety and quality compliance.
- To assign and improve system of technical information control including shelf life study.
- Deputising for the Technical director as required
- In case of long term absence of Team ManagerResearch & Development DirectorTechnical will be responsible to provide adequate cover.
Quality Systems:
- To comply the work practices to Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) Global and customers Food Safety & Quality system (HACCP 5S HALAL FSSC 22000 BRC and SQMS)
- To comply the companys policy and safety laws and regulations strictly.
- To follow the environmental management system Energy saving and Safety & Occupation Health as the company policies.
- To comply to the others companys business policies such as Thai labours law global and customers Ethical Responsible Sourcing system (SMETA SWA URSA)
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate lead inspire and manage team for results
- Managerial skills ability of supervision for multiple projects concurrently under pressure.
- Good initiatives for new product/concept development and keep update on global product/market trend.
- Interpersonal ability to successfully interface with customers sales force and operation team and coach/supervise product developer and operators.
- Fluent in English communication and Good in computer skills
- Must be a selfstarter with Can do attitude and Continuous Improvement mindset
- Able to work at Pak Chong and able to travel independently.
- Excellent understanding of Quality Food Safety GMP.
Education:
- Bachelor or masters degree in food science or similar Food related qualification.
Experience:
- 5 10 years experience working in R&D in Food industries prefer in Bakery or Confectionery.
