Job Description

With one of the leaders in our Sales & Marketing department going on parental leave there is the opportunity for a Business Development Manager to take on a fixedterm contract and drive the hotels growth. 

This role requires a proactive individual with a strong focus on strategic sales networking and market analysis to manage and develop business relationships across key market segments including MICE Corporate Entertainment and Sporting teams. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs) agents corporate clients and Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre to proactively source new business.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends providing actionable insights to hotel leadership and revenue management teams.
  • Prepare and negotiate tenders rates and terms to secure new business while hosting site inspections and presentations for potential and current clients.
  • Collaborate with operational departments to ensure seamless implementation of new business fostering excellence in customer service and repeat business opportunities.

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve budget targets and ensure exceptional customer service contributing to the hotels longterm success. The below experience and skills will be advantageous to your application. 

  • Proven experience in business development or sales within the hospitality events or related industries.
  • Familiarity with Brisbanes market segments including MICE Corporate Entertainment Sporting and Leisure.
  • Strong Communication and Presentation: For conducting tenders site inspections and engaging clients to secure business deals and achieve revenue targets.
  • Organisational and time management skills to handle multiple accounts appointments and operational coordination seamlessly.
